like... in a detailed way, with steps? (for instance, how much water to use, and how much to squeeze out?)


I want to try Laura Mercier's oil-free foundation, but it's supposed to have the best results with a damp sponge, and I have no clue how to do that.

dip the sponge in water and squeeze out all the water.. until last drop.. it should just be a little wet... now dip some foundation and apply it on you face upwards... when you are finished with one cheeck.. try the same on the other....


while you are applying on the nose.. apply if seperately on both sides and at the end.. try like a line on the center bone.. this helps you to show off the nose.. it gives a shape too...


make sure you apply under your neck too .. and to the ears also.. other wise your face will have different colors :)

I would suggest trying it both with a damp sponge %26amp; a dry sponge just to see which one you think gives better coverage %26amp; has an easier application.


Here is how I would do it with a damp sponge;


- put the sponge under cool water for a second, then squeeze it out so just a little water remains (you really only want a tiny bit of water)


- then put the foundation onto the sponge %26amp; right on your face to start blending


- if the sponge dries out in the middle of applying, just get it wet again %26amp; squeeze out excess water

You know what you can use that is easy? I forgot the name but it is from Benefit Cosmetic. You put it on as if you are putting on face powder but it is a bit sticky. Let it dry in a couple of minutes or less then it turns into powder. It is great! It is not as thick as foundation and it still keeps your skin look natural. They also have a lot of other neat items.
makeup sponges work best (available @ drugstores) run your finger under the water and dab the sponge with your finger. do this about 3 times. then put the foundation on your wrist and stoipple it on(stipple means to pat it on with the sponge) dont rub it in because that can cause unwanted redness and can cause wrinkles. apply the foundation under your eyes, cheekbones,chin,and nose. hope this helped!
put some on the sponge then just dab it on your face
Dip the sponge in the water and squeeze it firmly...you want it barely wet...then you just rub the sponge on the makeup and apply it...start from the nose and work outwards...try and put a thin layer on...
Squeeze out every drop of water you can! You literally want it just damp. Put a bit of foundation into the palm of your hand and pass spone through it then apply to face starting down the centre panel and working it out! Just keep on smoothing until you can't see any edge.
just use your finger tips it would be easier. just make sure you wash your hands afterwards.
I gave up on liquid foundation a long time ago. I use the mineral foundation such as Bare Mineral and Sheer cover. They cover very well, but feels like you have nothing on your face. Also its soooo easy to apply you really cant mess it up!
