Define empowerment and how this apply to you?

agree... it's much more of having the power to take decisions which are followed by responsibility. of course, personal responsibility.Define empowerment and how this apply to you?
Empowerment to me, is my ability to reach deep with in myself to accomplish what I want. THat requires believing in myself that I have the capacity and ability to make the right decisions for my needs. It applies to me (and every other human) because it is the process of gaining one's own power. An individual claims that power and uses it as inspiration for a better life.Define empowerment and how this apply to you?
Empowerment to me is when i am the one in control of what happens in my life. I make my own decisions and whether right or wrong they are my decisions and only I am responsible for the outcome of my life.

Please define Professional conduct? How does it apply to a child care center.?

about child carePlease define Professional conduct? How does it apply to a child care center.?
It refers to acting appropriately at work. You act like your responsible and you are there to do your job.

Examples, you DONT take personal phone calls, smoke around the kids, Yell at children, gossip with parents, talk bad about the children, dress sloppy, Not do your duties. Please define Professional conduct? How does it apply to a child care center.?
Professional conduct means the way you present yourself at work. In a preschool setting, this means that you handle the children in a way that is respectful and appropriate, you present yourself as a professional when talking with parents, you protect your students' rights to confidentiality, and you conduct yourself appropriately when dealing with other staff and superiors.
Professional Conduct is the moral and social manner in which an employee of the child care center conducts himself/herself. You wouldn't want someone who is unethical, perverted, uneducated, etc. coming in contact with your child, would you?
NAEYC is the national professional organization for those in the field of early childhood education. It details a professional code of conduct. It also offers a special accreditation to the very few top notch child cares around the nation. For more info, try their website http://www.naeyc.org.
Professional Conduct is professional conduct no matter what the job. The idea is to act professionally... not like this is just a paycheck, but it is your calling, your ideal profession, your reason for being. In child care, this would mean:

1) dressing modestly and professionally. You don't have to look like Mary Poppins, but you shouldn't dress with short-shorts, tiny camisoles, lots of make-up, etc. No belly buttons should show, no cleavage, etc. Remember, you are there to care for children, not cruise for a date.

2) The way you talk. Remember to keep all the cuss words out. Remember to keep the language proper. Don't say ';ain't';, ';gonna';, ';sho-nuff';, etc.

3) When you are assigned a job, do it. Do it right away, and do it to the best of your ability. If they tell you to set up for finger-painting time. Don't put it off until you feel like it. Do it right away, remember all the supplies, and do it consistently.

4) Do not talk to other staff people or other parents about the children or the other families. No one wants you to be saying, ';Did you see that shiner on Mrs. Smith today? Her husband likes to play rough.'; No one will continue to let you care for their kids if they hear you say, ';That Billy Jones is a little brat, I can't stand him.';

5) Don't believe everything the kids tell you about their parents, and don't spread it around.

6) Go to every seminar and workshop you can to learn more. Don't think of it as baby-sitting... think of it as molding young people. Join the unions if there are any, or join the professional organizations for child care workers.

Remember: a doctor is a professional, a lawyer is a professional... and child care workers can be professionals too if they chose to be and act the part!

Eye shadow tips? How to apply?

Primer. You must apply primer before applying eyeshadow. This helps the colors pop out more and last longer. I suggest Urban Decay Primer Potion at Sephora. ($17)

1. Apply your base eyeshadow. The base is always the lightest color. Do NOT rub in the eyeshadow. Take one side of your brush and PAT in the eyeshadow.

2. Apply your eyeshadow that is a darker shadow than your base in your outer V, sweeping into your crease area. This is best when using a stiff fluffy brush. ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8IS0eCO4U鈥?/a> )

4. Apply your eyeshadow that you used for your outer V on your lower lash line. This is best with a stiff brush or a angled brush for a more sharp look. Only apply the eyeshadow 2/3 of your lower lash line leaving your inner corner empty. In the inner corner apply the lighter shade (your base color).

5. Take a nice ';white'; creamy eyeshadow (such as Vanilla from MAC) and apply it on your brow bone. (Use a nice fluffy brush) While applying that highlight make sure to get rid of that harsh line.

6. Do any retouches such as blending in your two eyeshadow colors so there is no harsh line, or apply your eyeliners and such.Eye shadow tips? How to apply?
if your eyes are.....

Too close together: A light color on the inside corner of your eye lid and a medium to dark color from the center to the outer part of your eye

Too far apart: A medium shade on the inner half of the lid blending it out toward a lighter color; then line your eyes with the medium color

Droopy: Applying shadow to the outer corner of your eye, then extend the shadow up and out for an uplifted look

Too deep: Sweeping a light to medium color on your lid and a slightly darker color slightly above the crease of your eye, highlight your brow with a light color

remember to blend it well and bring out the color of your eyes.

how to apply three shades:

http://www.videojug.com/film/how-to-appl鈥?/a>Eye shadow tips? How to apply?
Well, it all depends what colors you are using. Dont know if you can rech me directly But get three shades. A light shade close to your skin color and apply below your browline and innercorners of your eyes. Medium tone color goes all over your eyelid staying below the crease. On the outercorner of your eye you will apply a darker color staying at the crease. I hope this helps
Put a light colour (white/cream) right on top of the eyelid, and then a little from the arch of your brow to the end. -This will highlight your eyebrows.

Next put a darker colour- usually brown or something, just beneath the light colour u've put on under the brow.

Take a bold-ish colour you have chosen to wear that day and apply a little to the tip of your eyelid. (or just from the middle to the end... its up to you) swiping it in a tiny upward motion in the direction of the ending of your brow.

Hope that makes sense... and I'm sorry if it doesn't. :)
ok theres several ways u can do half and half you know if you want to wear blue put half your eye blue and the other green you can put all one color or you can put one color all your eye another in the middle crese and another at the bottom crese but makes sure itds form light to dark

I want to apply for a grant, but I've NEVER met anyone who has recieved one. who has gotten one and how?

I want to expand my business.I want to apply for a grant, but I've NEVER met anyone who has recieved one. who has gotten one and how?
I have received grants, but not for expanding or starting a business.

It is hard to find grants to start or expand a business. Unlike the myths that some perpetuate, federal government and even private foundations hardly give grant money for starting a for-profit business.

One possible exception is for companies developing or exporting agricultural goods, including food and forest product. Another exception could be the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) or Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs http://www.sba.gov/aboutsba/sbaprograms/鈥?/a> , which fund the research and development of technological innovation that meets specific government needs.

Your best bet actually will be from the states if they offer grant programs for women (or any other special interest groups -- minorities, women, disabled, veterans, etc). Or check with non profit organizations, particularly women organizations if they offer grants. Examples include

Iowa Women's Foundation http://www.iawf.org/

New Mexico Women's Foundation http://www.nmwf.org/guidelines.html

Even SBA does NOT give out grants. From the SBA website http://www.sba.gov/mostrequesteditems/CO鈥?/a>

';The U.S. Small Business Administration does not offer grants to start or expand small businesses, although it does offer a wide variety of loan programs. (See http://www.sba.gov/financing for more information) While SBA does offer some grant programs, these are generally designed to expand and enhance organizations that provide small business management, technical, or financial assistance. These grants generally support non-profit organizations, intermediary lending institutions, and state and local governments.';

Nonetheless, you can go to the Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA) http://www.cfda.gov and Grants.gov http://www.grants.gov - these are two sites created by the federal government to provide transparency and information on grants. Browse through the listings and see if you can find any grant that would support a for-profit venture.

Here is a listing of federal grants for small businesses. See if there is any available for individuals for starting a business -- THERE'S NONE.

http://12.46.245.173/pls/portal30/CATALO鈥?/a>

Most of the federal grants are given to specific target groups with specific requirements (e.g. minority business owners involved in transportation related contracts emanating from DOT - Grant#20.905 Disadvantaged Business Enterprises Short Term Lending Program

Grants are also often given to non profit groups or organizations involved in training or other similar activities (grant 59.043 Women's Business Ownership Assistance that are given to those who will create women's business center that will train women entrepreneursI want to apply for a grant, but I've NEVER met anyone who has recieved one. who has gotten one and how?
That's because there are no grants for a business.

  • My father was born in Canada. If I was born before 1977, how do I apply, to become, (or am I a citizen.?

    Where were you born?

In general, if you were born in Canada, you are a Canadian citizen.

If you were born in another country:

You are a Canadian citizen if you became a citizen through the naturalization process in Canada (i.e., you were a permanent resident [immigrant] before you became a citizen).

You are a Canadian citizen if you were born in another country after February 14, 1977, and one of your parents was a Canadian citizen at the time of your birth.

You may be a Canadian citizen if you were born in another country before February 15, 1977, and if, at the time of your birth, one of your parents was a Canadian citizen and certain conditions were met. If you think this applies to you and you need more information, please contact us (see the Contact Information section at the end of this publication).

You may need to take steps to retain your citizenship before you turn 28 years of age if you were born in another country after February 14, 1977, to a Canadian parent who was also born in another country to a Canadian parent. If you think this applies to you and you need more information, please contact us (see the Contact Information section at the end of this publication).

CPU cooling: How often do you need to apply thermal paste?

Thermal paste is used to glue the heatsink in place. You don't need to apply it at all unless you're changing them.

    EDIT:

I didn't say that it was a glue. To the person who can't read, below. Indeed the CPU is held in place by clips, but what then holds the heatsink in place?CPU cooling: How often do you need to apply thermal paste?
Anytime you change the CPU or the heatsink attached to it basically.CPU cooling: How often do you need to apply thermal paste?
Thermal paste should only be applied when you fit a cpu or fit a heatsink to it. It should only be a tiny blob, match-head size or so, should out thinly and evenly. It isn't a ';glue'; at all, the previous answer is incorrect. The cpu is held in place by clamps, it is only to ensure there is contact between the cpu and the heatsink, to allow heat to be conducted away from the cpu.
