If one was an immigrant from Mexico - how long does it take to apply for legal citizenship and get it?

If you are a legal resident in the United States you must wait five years before applying to become a citizen. There are other requirements as well, see the attached link.If one was an immigrant from Mexico - how long does it take to apply for legal citizenship and get it?
why bother, you can live much better and get more government benefits without being listed. suit youself.

everything's free in america! If one was an immigrant from Mexico - how long does it take to apply for legal citizenship and get it?
Due to the various forms and paperwork and waiting times for all the paperwork to be processed...the whole legalization process (just for a green card) takes a couple years. After a person has been in this country with a green card with no problems for a certain amount of time (usually about 7 years), the person can take the citizenship test.
It takes everyone 3-5 years. You don't start with citizenship. You start with a green card.
It takes just as long for Mexicans as it does for any other legal immigrants. Illegal immigrants will not be granted legal citizenship as they are violating federal law.
