Can someone explain how science applies to the Bible?

I am a Christian; I am open minded enough to notice our universe and our bodies are a result of intelligent design. However I've just had a lot of questions lately and this is one of them. I've heard a lot of science actually supports the Bible's accuracy, but which theories contradict as far as evolution goes and how can I explain to others that they're incorrect. Basically what I'm asking is, does science actually contradict historical biblical scriptures like some say? Thank you.Can someone explain how science applies to the Bible?
Intelligent design is creationism in a cheap tuxedo. Science is diametrically opposed to both.Can someone explain how science applies to the Bible?
';I am open minded enough to notice our universe and our bodies are a result of intelligent design.';

Err... what? Intelligent design is not science, it's just another take on the god myth.

The bible is not a historical text and no part of it is supported by science. It is all mystical make believe.
Science both backs up Creation and the Bible.

The universe is too complex to have come into existence without an intelligent Creator.

The Bible is also historically accurate. Jesus actually did walk the earth. They've found the remains of Noah's Ark, and also the site where Jesus was crucified.

Also, God surpasses all knowledge, meaning that we finite humans cannot explain God, science is natural, God is supernatural.
Science does support the Jewish Kosher diet in the Old Testament. It is the best healthy diet and it is amazing to read the scriptures concerning this Kosher diet.
There are answers to any questions you may have.

I have a science degree and I believe in creation science. I've had many many questions, all answered.
The Bible says the earth is a sphere and rotates on axis, this was long before this was discovered to be true. The Bible also says the oceans have mountains and valleys, long before anyone knew this.
Evolution is a fairytale that contradicts the Bible.

The Bible warns about Science that is falsely so-called.

**Glenn Beck Fan--The Bible does NOT say the earth rotates on an axis.It says the earth shall not be moved.The sun rises.
My favorite is Isa 40:22 It starts off -he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth... Even there it tells that the earth was round but it wasn't untill Christopher Columbus did his sailing that man found this to be true.
Most rationalists want to think like they see there's no God.

But science does support the Bible if everyone is just open-minded enough.
No. Just no.

Science disproves essentially everything in the bible.
Science is slowly catching u;p with The BIBLE.

One example is... The BIBLE told about mountains and springs in the seas. Science did not find them unlit more then 1,000 years later.
evolution could have been the way God did it...... don't go saying any one is incorrect.... cause we don't know the whole story of earth.
Well, what you're asking for is a huge answer (it seems). I'll try to keep it a little short.

First, to the best of my knowledge, no science contradicts the biblical account. People will tell you otherwise, and when they do your response should be

a) what is the evidence that this science is not still theoretical

b) what is the evidence that the bible logically contradicts that non-theoretical science

Now - many scientific theories (quite naturally) contradict the biblical account. In fact, *most* scientific theories contradict other scientific theories! Remember that a scientific theory should by *no means* ever be accepted as proof of *anything*. Scientists with integrity refuse to use theories that way, and so should you. Anyone with any knowledge of scientific history is well aware that nearly all scientific theories are eventually invalidated by evidence rather than established as fact or ';law';. I could name a dozen or so once-most-popular scientific theories off the top of my head that have been discarded due to the discovery of evidence that invalidates them.

As for evolution, be careful: people have a *lot* of misconceptions about it, including many ';budding'; scientists, because it is taught as if it were factual in our schools. Here are some tips regarding the theory of species evolution.

1) When responding in writing, make certain that you **always** specify ';the theory of species evolution'; - not just ';evolution'; or ';the theory of evolution';. The theory of species evolution is undeniably different from the general theory of evolution.

2) Recognize that all that the theory of species evolution *really* claims is that species *can* evolve into other species. This is a pretty complete description of the theory of species evolution.

3) Some theories of species evolution - the ones that are most controversial *and* the ones that are most commonly meant when ';evolution'; is mentioned - claim that all species on Earth are the sole product of species evolution. Note that this is **very different** from what we might call the ';basic'; theory of species evolution. We might call this subset more correctly ';the theory of universal species evolution';. Again: notice how different it is from the above. If scientists ever witness an actual instance of natural species evolution (speciation), they will have proved the theory of species evolution - but NOT proved that any modern species is the product of species evolution!

This is where your defense of the bible gets serious traction. What is the evidence that *any* species has evolved from another species in the past? What, in particular, is the evidence that humans evolved from more primitive species in the past?

The evidence for these things is appallingly incomplete. This is where the theoretical nature of species evolution becomes plain. Does the theory of species evolution make sense? Sure! Is it consistent? Well, considering all of the *competing* theories of species evolution, not very. Most importantly: is there any reason someone should **put their faith** in (believe in) the theory of species evolution? No - people are not aided by faith in scientific theories, and scientific theories are not aided by people's faith, nor are scientific theories *deserving* of people's faith.

Now - let's see how the theory of species evolution fits in with the biblical account. Gen 1 tells us that God created the sun on the 4th day. ! That tells us plainly that the days mentioned in Genesis 1 are *not* 24-hour days, as we *know* that our 24-hour days are the result of the Earth's motion with respect to the sun. It turns out that both the Hebrew word and the English word ';day'; can mean a period of time *much longer* than 24 hours (like when we say of the dinosaurs, ';in their day';). Both the Hebrew word and the English word is used repeatedly in the Old Testament to refer to a period of time much longer than a 24-hour day.

SO, not restricted by time, does the theory of universal species evolution agree with Scripture? Nearly. Look at the order of creation in Genesis 1

* plants

* aquatic animals

* flying things (';birds'; is wrong - the Hebrew word means ';flying things'; and I believe it is speaking of flying insects)

* land animals

* man

As you can see, *if* we understand ';flying things'; to mean ';insects';, the order of creation fits in perfectly with modern theories of species evolution. Did God create everything using species evolution?

The hitch is when we get to humans. The bible tells us that Adam was made from the dirt - which is fine, as it agrees quite well with species evolution. The bible doesn't tell us God made Adam in one minute! The problem is that Eve is created from Adam's rib. IF you take this literally, that means that humans, alone of all creation, were created by something *more* than just species evolution. Eve was actually created by some other means.

Of course, when someone says, ';but we know humans evolved from more primitive creatures';, your answer should be ';prove it';.

A final note: IF the theory of human species evolution is accurate, at some point there must have been a first ';true human'; couple who produced true humans as offspring. It's not really sensible that humans popped up sporadically in several locations - some producing more humans by mating with proto-humans, some not. At some point speciation occurred (one or more true humans was born), and the offspring of those true humans were also true humans with the evolutionary advantages that allowed them to supplant the proto-humans from which they came.

In other words, IF the theory of human species evolution is accurate, logic tells us that at some point there *must* have been an ';Adam and Eve';. There has to be someone to whom all true humans can point as the first true human(s) - the first to carry that specific combination of genes that made them a different species from the proto-humans from which they came.

The theory of human species evolution supports the existence of an ';Adam'; and an ';Eve';.

God made the scientists...thats all...THE BIBLE IS ABOUT salvation... No it doesnt...except for manmade theories that lie..
