Christians, Does this verse apply to us/you and how?

There is one who speaks rashly like the thrusts of a sword,

But the tongue of the wise brings healing.

Proverbs 12:18

Can we see ourselves as healers?Christians, Does this verse apply to us/you and how?
Its not me that does the healing, but its the preaching of the gospel that does this.Christians, Does this verse apply to us/you and how?
Life and death are in the power of the tongue. There are many, many verses in the Bible about it, in Proverbs but also in the New Testament. We can help or hurt. And if one person won't play, two can't have an argument.

It's up to each person what they will say. A closed mouth gathers no embarassment.
Yes, we can strive to be healers in this sense, but this verse isn't talking about physical matters. We can bring healing to a situation by calming it down, by helping people see other sides, by using kind words, etc...

:D
This is a healing of the soul not a physical healing. When we were children and someone said things that hurt our feelings we could go to our parents and be consoled by their words and we would go away feeling much better. So yes we can be healers.
no nono no dont mis read it, what it is saying is to speak nice and polite so they may leave your presence with joy and be happy which in turn can make you whole and healed..
Yes, we can see ourselves as healers. As long as we have confidence and patience with the Lord we can heal with out tongues.
I try to be a healer as often as I can. Only others around me can say whether I have been a healer or a hindrance. It is not for me to say.
its said the wise is slow to speak

so if we did more praying about it and less taking about it

i believe healing would come more quickly...

cause then only the Right Word would be spoken
Yes, we are also encourager's
Proverbs 15:1 makes it more clear.
I see you more as 'beavers'
many people would say so.
yes if only they could hear us it would be so grrreat..
