How long do I have to live in US to apply for my greencard?

Living in the US does not entitle you to a green card. Only qualifying for a legitimate immigrant category will do that. Here are the general rules:

5 years after obtaining the LPR.How long do I have to live in US to apply for my greencard?
i think for a year or so, or visit: http://www.uscis.gov
It depends on how you got here. If you are here on a work visa, 5 years before you will be able to apply BUT depends on the kind of work you do. If you are an illegal.....duh hope for an amnesty. If you were an F1, F2, or F3, then about 6 months upon your arrival. So with spouse or minor children of US citizens.
Five years as of today but then everyday things change.
before you came!!!
Well, if you are that stupid believe this one........20 years.
